Hosted by the American Muscle Car Club at Fram Autolite Dragway, Meremere. Over $5000 total prize money. USA and Aussie V8s only. Admission: Adults $20, Children under 12 FREE. Gates open 7am, qualifying starts at 10am. Rain date Sunday 12 Sept 2010. Racers info: $35 to race plus $20 NZDRA Affiliation Fee. Post 1948 USA and Australian V8 cars only. No Jappas, no buckets, no hybrids: (V8 repowered 4 or 6 cylinder cars) Current WOF, registration and drivers licence required. Cars must have bonnets. Helmet and correct footwear must be worn. No slick tyres or passengers permitted. DYO racing format. Vehicles under 11.0 ET will be required to be NZDRA compliant: (Tech inspected with logbook, NZDRA licence for driver). Scrutineering starts 8am, cancellations on 1ZB.

The 2nd Royals Rumble
At 1375 McClure Street, Pirongia, Waikato, the home of Pirongia Clydesdales. Open to pre 1963 American cars & hot rods, pre 1966 British & American motorcycles modified in a 1950s or 1960s manner...no digital dash or billet. Gates open at 7am for entrants so display vehicles can be set up before venue opens to the public at 9am. Entry is by a gold coin per head with plenty of preferential parking for any custom, classic or hot rod which does not come under the criteria set out above. New on site is "The Little Clydesdale" a fully licensed cafe and bar. The Rumble is held on the same day as the huge Pirongia Craft Day, horse and wagon rides available from the Rumble venue to and from the main street Craft Day market.

Third Annual Aroha Cruise-In
Drive-In movie, Stanley Street school Friday night. Assemble in the main street Te Aroha at 6pm for a short cruise to the movie, $20 per car, all proceeds for the school. Display in the main street Saturday, entry from 8.30am, ‘til 2pm. Prizegiving 1.30 pm. $5 entry fee per car. Prizes for Best Classic Car, Best Hot Rod, Best Vintage, Best Motorcycle, Best Military, Best whatever powered by some sort of engine, People’s choice, and Mayor’s choice. Funny Car fire-up throughout the day, (bring your earplugs). Live bands, rock and roll dancing, raffles, and much more. All profits for the Te Aroha Fire Brigade, and Westpac helicopter.
